The gardening bug has bit me again. I had to move some large pots away from the pool, so I decided to plant a few things in those pots. There are six pots, all used for a fall garden last year: 3 for eggplants, 1 for bell peppers, 1 for tomatoes and 1 for some aromatic plants that I had hoped would keep the mosquitoes away. I got plants and seeds that would generally complement each other and I placed them by the fence that runs along the northwest edge of our property.
Pot 1:

Pot 3 already had scented geranium growing in it, so I added carrots (seed) to it.
I had a number of plants leftover so I planted them in some large containers out behind the fence. They each included one kale plant, two red cabbage plants, two broccoli plants, two cauliflower plants, and a smattering of the seeds I still had leftover (nasturtiums, beet, carrot and dill).
Finally, I cleared an old overgrown bed and planted carrots, beet and dill - all from seed.

The wire fence is hopefully going to keep our backyard critters out of the bed.
